Once your non-profit website design has been approved, you can easily connect it to your own custom domain name (e.g., yournonprofit.org). This process is handled through your domain registrar, which is where you purchased your domain.
The key to this process is updating your domain's nameservers. Nameservers tell the internet where to find your website. Follow the detailed steps below to connect your domain.
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Log In to Your Domain Registrar
Go to the website where you registered your domain name (e.g., GoDaddy, Namecheap, Google Domains). Log in to your account with your credentials.
Step 2: Find Your DNS or Nameserver Settings
Navigate to your domain management area. The exact name of this section may vary, but it's often labeled **"DNS Management,"** **"Nameservers,"** or **"Domain Settings."**
Step 3: Change the Nameservers
Look for an option to change your nameservers. It may be set to "Default" or "Custom." Choose the option to use **custom nameservers**. Then, enter the following two nameserver addresses:
ns1.is.cc
ns2.is.cc
Click **"Save"** or **"Update"** to apply these changes.
Step 4: Wait for Propagation
After saving, it may take some time for the changes to take effect across the internet. This process, known as **DNS propagation**, can take anywhere from a few minutes to 48 hours. During this time, your website may not be visible at your new domain.
Once propagation is complete, your website will be live at your custom domain name! If you have any issues, please contact our support team.
